Currently loving this weather’s steady stream of sunshine and vitamin D. Let me restate that – loving last week’s steady stream of sunshine and vitamin D. This week we’ve experienced clouds, rain, and SNOW! Yep, snow in April! If you follow me on Instagram you would have seen the beautiful photos of the short-lived snowstorm we had on Monday. By midday, they were pretty much non-existant and the sun actually showed its face for a few moments!
I’m doing what I can to stay positive and ignore this week’s lack-luster weather by daily reminding myself that warm sunny days are on the horizon. My list of things to do and purchase in anticipation of summer’s arrival is getting longer by the day. I anxiously want to give every one of our gardens a massive refresh, and prepare the patio for summer entertaining.
The other day I discovered the cutest patio set for our front deck that I can’t seem to get out of my head. I love their modern look with a touch of southern charm. Navy has been a new color I’m really getting into lately and I really want to incorporate it into the house in some way.
The Minneapolis Farmer’s Market will be starting up on May 1st, which is one of our favorite activities for the weekends! That French Market Basket, from Food52, has farmer’s market written all over it! I can just see myself wandering the market aisle, filling up this basket with the freshest of produce or bright bouquet of flowers, then going home and cooking for hours!
These last few years my collection of summer hats have been growing by leaps and bounds. I’ve discovered the importance of taking care of your skin, so it will thank you later! Unfortunately, it was a lesson I learned a bit too late, but one I’m trying to take seriously. To all of my fair-skinned friends out there, I can’t tell you how important it is to cover up and avoid the sun as much as possible. However, that is a lecture and a pending blog post for another day, lol! I’m currently loving this hat and sunglasses, from Show Me Your Mumu. They will be finding their way into my wardrobe within the next few weeks for sure! They have this great Coachella-like style that I can’t seem to get enough of lately.
